Slow Cooked Baked Beans

SERVES: Approximately 12

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb. Jack Rabbit Navy Beans
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard powder
  • 1 tsp. Vinegar
  • 2 c. ketchup
  • ¼ c. molasses
  • ¼ c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt pork or bacon, as desired

 

PREPARATION:

  • To prepare beans: Presoak and cook beans as directed. Drain, reserving cooking liquid.
  • Preheat oven to 300°.
  • Combine all ingredients into a pot. Add enough reserved bean water to cover the contents.
  • Cover the pot and place in the center of a preheated 300° oven for 6 hours.
  • Serve hot.
